CFA Faculty & Staff Welcome Back Reception and Annual Art Exhibition Opening

Published January 31, 2018

On January 12th, College of Fine Arts faculty and staff celebrated the new year with a Welcome Back Reception to commence the 2018 Art Faculty Exhibition. This well-attended event was hosted at the Museum of Fine Arts starting at 5 P.M., an hour before the 2018 Art Faculty Exhibition opened to the public at 6 P.M. Thanks to CFA’s Events and Outreach Coordinator Bobbie Fernandez, faculty and staff at the reception enjoyed an array of food from Food Glorious Food, as well as drinks from a wine bar. Over 35 faculty and adjunct-faculty members shared a total of 66 pieces at this private screening. These works included video projections, photography, sculpture, print-making, textiles and ceramics.

The opening night also included an one-night-only video projection piece. This glamourous piece was exhibited in the Walmsley Gallery. Challet Comellas and Clinton Sleeper were the multi-modal artists behind the array of chromatic images against a crisp, black outline, and incorporated a music score.

This year’s 2018 Art Faculty Exhibition is worth the visit to discover what our current faculty and adjunct-faculty are interested in this year. The exhibition will be open for guests until February 4, 2018.

Please enjoy some photographs from the reception.
