With over 25 years as a professional fundraiser, Fred Salancy has been successful in using his talents to bring needed resources to the arts at Florida State and beyond. In 2000 he joined the FSU Foundation, and in 2002 he was selected as the first full-time fundraiser to oversee the major gift development efforts for the arts at Florida State. As the Assistant Dean of Fine Arts Development he was instrumental in managing fund raising activities for the College of Motion Picture Arts and the College of Fine Arts. His efforts yielded nearly $50 million in contributions to Florida State University for the arts, the Ringling Museum and the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. Fred holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University, a Master of Arts degree in Theatre from West Virginia University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Performance from the University of Georgia. Fred and his wife Ann have four children, Michael, Abby, Julianne and Joseph. Fred has begun work at The Catholic University of America where he will be working to develop a Catholic Arts Council while creating a major gifts fund raising program for the Arts at CUA.
