October 26 and 28

Stanislavsky House-Museum’s Onegin Hall

On October 26 and 28, Professor Andrei Malaev-Babel, the Head of Acting at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, will open his production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard in Moscow, at the Stanislavsky House-Museum’s legendary Onegin Hall. It is a tremendous honor to open a production at the very auditorium where the maker of modern theater rehearsed and premiered his own shows. Professor Malaev-Babel has been directing this piece since October of 2017 for the Moscow Demidov School Laboratory, where he is the Curator and Artistic Director. A unique rehearsal process based on 10 years of research at the FSU/Asolo’s acting lab, is now being shared with Russian theatre professionals. The results of this unique process will be presented to audiences in one of word’s theatrical capitals for the first time.
