Thank you for applying to be a member of the 2016 – 2017 College Leadership Council for the College of Fine Arts. This is a prestigious position within the college, with the opportunity to make real change for students.
As such, this application will serve to make sure that the students chosen for the council will be committed student leaders. Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students in any of the six programs within the College of Fine Arts: Art, Art Education, Art History, Dance, Interior Architecture and Design, and Theatre.
In previous years, the council has been responsible for SIX Magazine, social events, food drives, and the cell phone charging stations located in the Fine Arts Building, the William Johnston Building, and Montgomery Hall, among other events and programs. The council has a great deal of autonomy in selecting projects to work on, and we look forward to your ideas.
New members will be notified over the Summer of 2016, but meetings will not commence until the second week of Fall classes. A Doodle poll will be administered during Drop/Add week to find a meeting time that works for the most council members possible. While the occasional absence for rehearsals or other commitments is permitted with prior communication, members should make the most possible effort to attend every meeting. This is essential, as the committee makes decisions via general body vote, and must obtain a quorum of members at every meeting to be successful. The College Leadership Council for the College of Fine Arts is a close knit group of successful students who want to improve the academic, social, and professional lives of their peers.
