Interior Architecture & Design

The FSU Department of Interior Architecture and Design hosted an alumni and friends reception at NeCON 2016. The event drew alumni from 1980-2016 and provided opportunities for reminiscing and networking.

Dance

The Florida State University School of Dance presented two works for adjudication during the American College Dance Association’s southeastern conference this past March; “Love’s Sea” by graduate student Erika Hand, and “Poem” (part 1) by guest artist Alex Ketley.

Theatre

FSU School of Theatre alumni, Harris Milgrim (BFA Music Theatre, 2010) has been cast in the much-anticipated Broadway revival of “Cats”. “Cats” is set to begin previews July 14 and will officially open August 2 at the Neil Simon Theatre.

Facility for Arts Research

The FSU Facility for Arts Research provided props for “Blank Map”, a dance performance in San Francisco for the National Queer Arts Festival. “Blank Map” was hosted via The Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) residency program.

FSU / Asolo Conservatory

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training’s Class of 2017 recently completed five weeks of study in London. The London program is an integral part of the Conservatory training, giving the students access to a ray of opportunities.

MANCC

The Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) hosted its first Artist & Writer’s Convening on June 6 & 7. The two day gathering aimed to address the need for greater, more astute analysis and context around choreographers’ research and creative process.

Museum of Fine Arts

While the public programming at the Museum of Fine Arts continues to welcome visitors, behind the scenes, the Museum staff work to add to the information known about objects in the Collection. Recently, Dr. Paul Lee was invited to examine a small Chinese ceramic bowl.

The Ringling

The most spectacular summer entertainment in Sarasota, presented in partnership with The Circus Arts Conservatory, celebrates a decade in The Ringling’s Historic Asolo Theater. This incredible theatrical production of circus artistry dazzles and amazes audiences of all ages.
