New Stages 2015-2016: The Art of Making Dan


This October, Holly Hanessian’s 3rd Year Seminar class traveled to New York City to meet and interact with artists living and working there.


This semester, Museum Education and Visitor-Centered Exhibitions (MEX) students taking the ARE 5930 Visitor Studies class applied research at our partner museum, the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida.


Dr. Richard Emmerson, Visiting Distinguished Professor of Art History, has developed a new E-series course to be offered for several spring semesters beginning in 2016.


On January 18th, 2016, Florida State University students have the exciting opportunity to attend the 2016 Art & Design for Social Justice Symposium.


The mission of the Community Arts Initiative is “to provide enriching artistic opportunities for interested students, faculty, and staff of Florida State University to engage with the Tallahassee community.”


Florida State University School of Theatre Alumna, Tanisha Moore, will be playing the role of Kiki in the 2015-2016 tour of the Broadway musical "Flashdance". The tour made a stop in Tallahassee on December 1, 2015.


FAR Faculty in Residence Rob Duarte is currently exhibiting his electromechanical sculpture 'Inaneremori' at the Grizzly Grizzly gallery in Philadelphia.


In November, the FSU Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training has finally completed the largest part of the renovation of the Cook Theatre, which houses not only the performance season for the Conservatory but also provides a home for local arts organizations.


This month, MANCC welcomes Jennifer Monson, an internationally recognized dancer, choreographer and improviser, as well as educator and curator, and her four collaborators in a 16-day residency to continue work on an ongoing, modular dance performance project called "in tow".


The Museum of Fine Arts will proudly host the annual Art & Antiques Fair this weekend, December 4th from 10:00am to 6:pm and December 5th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.


In New Stages 2015-2016: The Art of Making Dance, four choreographers return to The Ringling to invite audiences to participate in an ongoing conversation about what informs, shapes, defines, and animates their diverse and dynamic creations of contemporary dance.
