The Florida State University Department of Art Therapy presents the 2015 Spring workshop, featuring guest Dr. Michael Franklin. Dr. Franklin will be speaking on two topics, “The Practitioner Researcher: Locating the Contemplative – Transpersonal View of Art Therapy,” and “Discovering Imaginal Mindfulness Through the Full Democracy of I/Thou Collaborations with Clay.”
Dr. Michael Franklin is the coordinator of the Transpersonal Art Therapy program at Naropa University. Michael lectures internationally and has published articles on various subjects including aesthetics, self-esteem, AIDs iconography, interpretive strategies, community based art therapy and contemplative approaches including yoga, meditation and empathic methods. Michael’s current research as an artist and writer focuses on integrating relationships between art therapy, social engagement, yoga philosophy and meditation.
