Florida State University’s Department of Art Education in collaboration with Opening Nights Performing Arts presents two “Creative Conversations” with Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Art Education, David Gussak, Ph.D., ATR-BC, and author of the book, “Orange is the New Black,” Piper Kerman. They will be speaking about their knowledge and experience on our current prison system and other prison-related topics. This event is free and open to the Students, Faculty and Staff of the College of Fine Arts – however there are only 200 seats available!

Additionally, Opening Nights Performing Arts and the FSU Department of Art Education is hosting a free, Pop-Up Gallery Exhibit of Art in the Correctional facility. This exhibit will feature selected artworks created by prison inmates, which demonstrate the creativity, ingenuity and talent that exists within prison walls. This will also take place February 10th and the gallery will open at 10:30am. Be sure to stop by at a time when Dr. Gussak will be available to discuss the exhibit (times listed below).
