Thanks to Atlanta-based and FSU alum-helmed design firm Pineapple House Interior Design, FSU’s Resource Room will get much-needed support for the 2016 academic year.

Pineapple House was founded by Tallahassee native and FSU Interior Design alum Stephen Pararo, ASID. Pararo’s business model earned him honors as Georgia’s “Small Business Person of the Year” – First Runner Up in 2014, and recognized his business acumen as among the Top 100 in the nation. Pararo was also seen on HGTV as a Panel Judge for “Fresh Faces of Design” HGTV national competition.

But Stephen isn’t the only FSU connection at Pineapple House. Sister Cynthia Pararo (BFA Studio Art 1977) serves as Chief Operating Officer, and Zachary Azpeitia (BS Interior Design 2002) is an Interior Designer. Cynthia Pararo said,

We knew we wanted to support the FSU Department of Interior Architecture & Design. The Department has many needs, but we felt strongly that we could make the most impact with our annual gift by designating it for sponsorship of the Resource Room. Our firm knows the value of having a well-stocked sample room, and we want the students to have access to a high quality of samples too.

Professor Steven Webber looks forward to updating the FSU Interior Architecture & Design Resource Room. As the faculty member who oversees the resource room, Steve Webber says,

We plan to move our collection of resources within the William Johnston Building and reorganize the Resource Room to provide greater access and usage for our students.

The Department thanks Pineapple House Interior Design for advocating for FSU for decades and supporting the program through this gift. Learn more about how you can support FSU Department of Interior Architecture + Design or make a gift today.
