Small Craft Advisory Press welcomed book artist Macy Chadwick of In Cahoots Press during the week of October 5-9, 2015, at the Facility for Arts Research in Tallahassee. Chadwick is the newest SCAP collaborator, working with Denise Bookwalter (Director of SCAP), AB Gorham (Press Manager) and Sara White (Resident Artist) on a letterpress printed and laser cut book project titled Flashpoint. In the months leading up to Chadwick’s visit, the group held weekly planning sessions via Skype, conceptualizing and designing the book, which was printed using all three of SCAP’s Vandercook Letterpresses.

Flashpoint is an artist’s book that explores patterns, including patterns of thought, sleep patterns, river patterns, and fire patterns. The resulting interaction between these seemingly disparate repeating designs is a conversation between 4 artists manifest in imagery.
