Career Preparation Fund

Published December 7, 2017

The CFA Dean’s Advisory Board established the Career Preparation Fund in 2013 as an endowment to connect students directly into job markets in art, theatre, and dance.

The Career Preparation Fund in the College of Fine Arts will help transition our students into professional careers utilizing their artistic skills and talents by increasing access to industry – bringing professionals to our students and helping prepare them and their work for the profession. Spendable earnings from this endowment will fund travel to trade shows and conferences, group presentations to professionals (i.e. Portfolio reviews, Theatre Senior Showcases, etc.), and other activities that correlate directly to career opportunities.

History and Need

Our Dean’s Advisory Board has established phased goals for the growth of the Career Preparation Fund. In 2014, the Board matched and exceeded a $25,000 challenge by then-Chair Mark Cecil, bringing the corpus of the fund to $59,700. Our next goal is to hit $100,000 by 2018.
