Congratulations Cassandra Rayne, Appointed Incoming Chair of the Women for FSU’S Program Planning Committee

The College of Visual Arts, Theatre and Dance wishes to congratulate our own Cassandra Rayne, Dean’s Administrative Specialist, for her most recent accomplishment! Cassandra will serve a three-year term leading the Program Planning Committee of the Women for Florida State University, first as Co-Chair along with Leslie Patterson of the School of Theatre, and then as Chair. She will also serve on the Executive Committee during this time.

Cassandra works at Florida State University’s College of Fine Arts as a part of the University Business Administrators program. She is a two-time graduate of Florida State University, having earned her Master of Business Administration in August 2012 and her undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management in 2010.

The Women for Florida State University (W4FSU) is a philanthropic organization associated with the FSU Foundation that focuses on engaging, celebrating, mentoring, and recognizing women in the University community. Annually, the organization holds several events, the largest of which is the Backstage Pass to the Very Best of Florida State that showcases programs throughout the University in a weekend-long, interactive, and highly educational celebration. In her new role within the Program Planning Committee, Rayne will assist in the development and planning of this event and others, working to identify and create additional relationship-building opportunities to highlight and promote the University while fostering the mission and values of W4FSU.

My involvement with the Women for Florida State University began when I was asked to speak as a student guest at the 2010 Backstage Pass event. As I began to engage with the attendees and membership, it struck me just how compassionate, open, and involved each member was, and I admired the organization’s devotion to celebrating the achievements of our University. I decided at that moment that I needed to be involved and began volunteering with the Program Planning Committee that year. I am truly excited and honored to be asked to serve in this way; the opportunity to create and develop relationships while playing a role in shaping the organization’s events is  invigorating. I can’t wait to get started!”
