Choreography by FSU Dance students in Tampa’s NewGrounds 2014

Published May 14, 2014

FSU Dance’s MFA candidates Erica Lessner and Jee Eun Ahn have been chosen as two of nine choreographers to be part of NewGrounds 2014 in Tampa.

Presented by Moving Current, NewGrounds celebrates Florida’s contemporary dance artists in a concert of professional and up and coming choreographers this May with NewGrounds performances on May 16 and 17 at 8pm at University of South Florida’s College of Theatre & Dance.

NewGrounds began in 2002 by Moving Current directors when they decided to fill the need for  choreographers to present their work, help connect Florida choreographers and ultimately support and nurture modern dance in the State of Florida. Twelve years later, Moving Current still has an important need to fill for the many talented and diverse choreographers living, studying and working in Florida.

“This is one of the best programs for emerging and established choreographers to try out new work in a safe, supportive environment.  You feel like you are part of the family.”  – Bill Doolin,  Director of Florida Dance Association
