There is a fine line between reality and fantasy, between what we want to avoid and what we want to believe and accept as real. My work uses photography as a way to describe the story of an individual that was gone through a traumatic event and turns to isolation from the outside world as a way to cope with her pain. Her desire for prolonged solitude brings her closer to a series of familiar objects, situations, and places that provide a needed sense of safety and security: a way to escape the anxiety, numbness, loss of identity, and disconnection.
