Council on Research and Creativity Announces 2011-2012 ‘COFRS,’ ‘FYAP’ recipients

The Council on Research and Creativity at Florida State University recently presented four faculty members from the Department of Art with Committee on Faculty Research Support (COFRS) Awards for 2011-2012.

  • George Blakely (Art), “Reinventing the Landscape as Image and Artifacts from a North Carolina Midden”
  • Terri Lindbloom (Art), “Intelligent Interfaces: Exploring New Technologies within Multi-Media Installations”
  • John Mann (Art), “The Levitating Stage”
  • Mark Messersmith (Art), “Halcyon Summer”

The council also  presented First Year Assistant Professor (FYAP) Awards to Jennifer Atkins (School of Dance) for her proposal, “Dance and Gender in New Orleans Mardi Gras, 1870-1920,” and to Jeffrey Broome (Department of Art Education) for his proposal, “Preparing Professional Development in Multi-Age Education: Assessing the Needs of Special Area Teachers.”
