Creative Conversations: Dr. David Gussak and Piper Kerman

Florida State University’s Department of Art Education in collaboration with Opening Nights Performing Arts presents two “Creative Conversations” with Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Art Education, David Gussak, Ph.D., ATR-BC, and author of the book, “Orange is the New Black,” Piper Kerman. They spoke about their knowledge and experience on our current prison system and other prison-related topics.

Additionally, Opening Nights Performing Arts and the FSU Department of Art Education hosted a free, Pop-Up Gallery Exhibit of Art in the Correctional facility. This exhibit featured selected artworks created by prison inmates, which demonstrated the creativity, ingenuity and talent that exists within prison walls.
