Alphabet Party, Multimedia Instillation
In a world where we have gotten in to the habit of publicly displaying the events of our life, I decided to make a piece that stepped back from that and focused on the more private details that we are not always able or willing to share vocally. These geometric shapes illustrate our complexity as humans. Break us down and all you have is a pile of cells that seem like they could have never been an arm or a leg. Take these objects apart and you are left with a bunch of triangles that describe a story that has no beginning or end.
We are beautiful and hold massive amounts of experiences within us but we cannot tell our full story; we always remain slightly distant and elusive shielded by our subjective view of the world. We ask to be understood and inspected, but we do not quite make sense. My forms speak to this delicate balance between who we are and how the rest of the world interprets us.
The images serve as a representation of our histories and the ways that the world affects us, we are influenced by everything around us whether we want to be or not. We are in a permanent state of change and form an inconceivable amount of relationships, as we weave in and out of the lives of people places and things that we come in contact with.
