Exhibition of animation art and artifacts from the Disney Renaissance, a 10-year period beginning with the release of The Little Mermaid in 1989 and lasting through Tarzan in 1999. Curated by Art History PhD student and former Disney artist Mery-et Lescher, this collection of objects from various stages of the production pipeline demonstrates how disproportionately more “artifacts” are manufactured for consumption by the general public than are actually created during the original animation process.
The show will be open in the WJB Gallery from August 21 to October 4. Gallery hours: 11-1 Tuesday & Thursday and by appointment (contact the curator)
