Join us for this exciting symposium exploring Art Therapy Leadership locally and internationally

 

The Department of Art Education welcomes you to join the Art Therapy Program and the FSU Art Therapy Association (FSU-ATA) as they collaborate with the Florida Art Therapy Association (FATA) in an upcoming art therapy symposium titled Developing Leadership: Art Therapy Advocacy at Home and Abroad.

Taking place from February 3rd to the 5th with three days of events, the art therapy symposium offers a variety of workshops and events to facilitate discussion regarding the meanings of leadership locally and internationally within the field of art therapy. It will feature Keynote speaker Wayne Ramirez, MFA, MS, ATR-R, art therapy pioneer and Wisconsin Art Therapy Association founding president and honorary life membership member.

A schedule of events for the FATA and FSU-ATA art therapy symposium is provided below:

Saturday, February 3rd: At Centrale Pizza, Parm, and Bar (815 W. Madison St., Tallahassee, FL 32304)

6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m.: Opening Reception and Art Show: Developing Leadership in Art Therapy Art Exhibitions, presented by Jessie Spraggins Rochford, MS, ATR, LMHC

Sunday, February 4th: At Florida State University (143 Honors Way, Tallahassee, FL 32304)

  • 8:30am-9:00am: Art Therapy Symposium Registration and Refreshments
  • 9:00am-10:00am: Keynote speaker and art therapy pioneer Wayne Ramirez, MFA, MS, ATR-R presents In Search of Neorico & Art Therapy
  • 10:15am-11:15am: Panel discussion on Developing Leadership Locally: Florida Art Therapy Association with Lindsey Brooks, Holly Ellison, Franchesca Lastra Vicente, and Stephanie Wray, moderated by FATA president Joseph Scarce, MA, MFT, ATR-BC, and with special guest FSU Chief Legislative Officer Kathleen Mears
  • 12:15pm-1:15pm: Panel discussion on Developing Leadership Internationally: Florida State University with FSU Art Therapy Program faculty Dr. Barbara Parker Bell, Dr. David Gussak, and Dr. Theresa Van Lith.
  • 1:30pm-3:00pm: Art Therapy Workshop Developing Leadership in Response to Community Trauma, presented by FATA president Joseph Scarce, MA, MFT, ATR-BC, and Stephanie Wray MAAT Student
  • 3:15pm-4:45pm: The Hive – Open Art Studio
