Celia Bertoia will be visiting Florida State University to give a lecture on her father, Harry Bertoia, the chair designer, artist, and sounding sculpture inventor. Celia has just published a book, The Life and Work of Harry Bertoia, available for pre-order at amazon.com. She will talk about the iconic Bertoia chairs, life with Harry, and much more.
The Department of Interior Architecture + Design will host a reception and gallery opening of student furniture work followed by the lecture from Celia Bertoia on Thursday January 15 from 4:30 – 6:00. Reception and gallery opening at 4:30 is on the first floor of the William Johnston Building with the lecture beginning at 5:00 on the ground floor in room G40.
