Please review the below memorandum from Dean Marcus regarding the Graduate Faculty Mentor Awards program and share with your department’s faculty, staff, graduate students, and graduate alumni. The Chairs/Director’s offices should collect nominations directly and submit as a group to the Office of the Dean as explained below.
“to recognize faculty mentors whose dedication to graduate students and commitment to excellence in graduate education and mentoring have made a significant contribution to the quality of life and professional development of graduate students at Florida State University.”
Eligible faculty must be current FSU faculty members with graduate faculty status, co-doctoral, or co-masters directive status, serve as a graduate mentor, and have been employed at FSU for at least five years. Both tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty are eligible. Faculty on courtesy appointments are not eligible. See attachments for additional information, instructions & award criteria.
$3,000 award* and recognition at the Spring 2015 Faculty Awards Ceremony; up to 5 awards will be given
All currently enrolled FSU graduate students, graduate student organizations, graduate alumni, faculty, and staff may nominate candidates for this award. The Chair/Director’s Offices should collect their unit’s nominations and submit together to the Office of the Dean as explained below.

After receiving nominations, the Dean’s Office will complete the nominations with the following components:
To reiterate, nominations are to be routed through Chairs/Directors offices to ensure the application pieces marked in blue above are complete prior to submission to the Dean’s Office before the deadline of January 30, 2015.
