Graduate Students Mary Katherine Crouch & Lindsey Baker Present Research

FSU Interior Design was well-represented at the annual Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) conference in Ft. Worth, Texas March 10-15. Faculty and graduate students were highly visible delivering 13 different presentations. Florida State University faculty Tony Purvis and Steve Webber presented an engaging session on the High Magnetic Field Laboratory charrette during the Pecha Kucha creative teaching forum.

Steve delivered two additional presentations on pedagogy and Kenan Fishburne, whose research involves experiential learning, also gave two presentations. Amy Huber, the Department of Interior Architecture + Design’s technology and visual communication expert, was involved in two presentations on technology, and Lisa Waxman was also involved with two presentations, including a plenary on promoting design programs. Graduate students Lindsey Baker and Mary Katherine Crouch presented thesis research during the poster session. Amy Huber was recognized with a Service Award for her contribution to IDEC as the coordinator of the Pecha Kucha Creative Teaching Presentations for the last two years. Congratulations to all!
