The Department of Interior Architecture + Design congratulates faculty member Kenan Fishburne for her recent “Best Abstract” award at the Interior Design Educator Council South Regional conference. Kenan is an assistant professor with research interests in experiential learning through internships as well as designs for special population. Her abstract addressed current internship practices and factors influencing excellence in programs around the country.
Graduate student Alexandria Leadon won the “Best Poster” presentation at the same conference for her research on office design. Alex is exploring the recent trend of open collaborative office design and how that impacts an employee’s ability to complete individual focused work. She recently completed a week of research in Virginia observing user patterns in an open office environment. Lisa Waxman serves as her major professor.
