Lauren Trujillo, ASID Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award Winner

The Florida State University Department of Interior Architecture + Design is proud to announce top national awards achieved by Master of Fine Arts graduate students.

Lauren Trujillo has been recognized with the national 2014 American Society of Interior Designers Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award. Her thesis explored the relationship between the built environment at universities and the opportunities for intercultural connection among domestic and international students. Lauren receives a $5000 cash prize and a trip to Los Angeles to receive her award at the ASID national awards gala event. Lauren’s thesis was supervised by Dr. Lisa Waxman.

Mary Katherine Crouch, ASID Legacy Scholarship Winner

The 2014 American Society of Interior Designers Graduate Student Legacy Fellowship was awarded to Mary Katherine Crouch. This singular national recognition provides $4000 and was awarded based on Ms. Crouch’s outstanding academic and creative accomplishment. Her emerging thesis will address the built environment’s potential role in empowering elderly persons.

The Florida State University graduate program in interior design offers the Master of Science First Professional, the Master of Science Advanced Professional and the Master of Fine Arts degrees that prepare students for design practice and/or teaching and research.
