  • Develop and implement communication and public relations strategies that engage and inform prospective students, current students, alumni, donors, media, and the community. 
  • Ensure a unified brand presence within The College of Fine Arts through both internal and external messaging and digital presence.
  • Serve as the College’s project manager, editor, and principal writer for a wide range of digital and print materials.
  • Serves as the central resource to the College’s academic departments, centers, and units in communication
  • Promote news, events, productions, research, projects to internal and external constituents
  • Maintain a dynamic, secure website with a focus on a visually appealing, user-friendly experience.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and delegating to OPS employees, federal work study students, or interns assisting in this capacity.


  • A Bachelor’s degree and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
  • The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing is required, as is experience conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and directing photography and graphics associated operations.
  • Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or comparable software.
  • Experience with design and photo editing software and programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and InDesign).
  • Knowledge of current media technology and trends.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (such as communications, creative writing, marketing, web design, etc) and two years of complimentary experience preferred.
  • We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, and who work well independently as well as in a team.
  • Applicants should possess the ability to utilize problem-solving skills and will have a strong sense of initiative, as well as a demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple web and print oriented marketing channels.
  • Strong graphic design skills are preferred, and experience managing projects and employees is desired.
  • Experience designing websites using technologies such as WordPress and knowledge of basic web programming including HTML, CSS, and PHP is preferred.
  • An ability to lead team-oriented processes combined with the initiative to proactively seek out new opportunities for outreach is preferred.
  • Experience developing social media strategies and integrating marketing analytics tools to measure all digital marketing performance.

Anticipated Salary Range

At or around $40,000

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.


If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
