Spending a majority of my life in a predominantly white middle class environment, I feel as though my surroundings are devoid of cultural identity and spectacle. My main impetus to create artwork stems out of a desire to combat this lack of identity, and to create mystification in an otherwise lackluster suburbanite environment. I re-appropriate and re-contextualize ubiquitous commercial imagery into satirical digital collages, paintings, and animations that draw attention to the human proclivity for mental deficit and err. These meticulously constructed societal critiques are veiled by satirical context and a whimsical aesthetic.
