Monty Lunde is a graduate of Stanford University, with degrees in both Design and Human Biology. After graduation, Monty joined Walt Disney Imagineering as a special effects designer, during the development of EPCOT Center. Three years later, in 1984, Monty and his business partner formed Technifex with the goal of producing state-of-the-art special effects and show systems for theme parks, and related leisure and entertainment environments.

As the President and CEO of Technifex, Monty has spent the last 32 years overseeing the growth of the company and key multi-million dollar projects for clients such as Disney, Universal Studios, Warner Bros, SeaWorld, Kennedy Space Center, numerous major casino developers, the US Department of Defense and many other one-of-a-kind, award winning, guest experiences around the world. Monty’s team of professionals at Technifex are active in the conceptual development and creation of show technical systems for theme parks, casinos, water parks, museums, global special events and sophisticated training simulation systems for fire fighter and military personnel. Technifex also focuses on R&D and as such, the company produces many unique and patented entertainment technologies.

Monty founded the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), in 1991, which now represents over 1,300 US and international companies working in the field of Themed Entertainment. Monty is currently an ex-officio member of the TEA Board of Directors. Monty is also a past member of the Santa Clarita Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, and a past member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Board of Directors.
