Nell Bryant Kibler (FSCW 1945) was a native of Lakeland and a Florida State University graduate from the College of Social Work who received a B.S. in Sociology in 1945. While at FSU, she was also part of Friends of the Library and the Kappa Delta’s sorority. Mother of four and wife to D. Burke Kibler III, Nell served as Secretary and Director of Kibler Agricultural Corporation, member of First Presbyterian Church, Citrus & Chemical Bank Board of Directors and the Junior Service League of Greater Lakeland, among many others.

Nell was deeply committed to the arts. She was the Director of the Needlework Guild, a former trustee of the Polk Museum of Art, and a volunteer for the Imperial Symphony Orchestra in Lakeland. Upon her passing, friends and family contributed to a fund in her honor at Florida State University. After her husband’s passing, the Kiblers made another generous donation to the “Nell Bryant Kibler Fund” which supports the Museum of Fine Arts at Florida State University.
