The School of Theatre is preparing for A Chorus Line, its first musical production of the 2015-2016 year. A Chorus Line will run from October 16-25, 2015, in the Fallon Theatre. The performance website describes it like this:

It’s a harrowing experience every hopeful dancer knows all too well – dancing and singing their hearts out for a spot in the chorus of a Broadway show. In an unconventional twist, a Broadway Director goes beyond the standard “5,6,7,8” and asks each dancer to reflect on the experiences that led them to the world of the stage. Poignant, touching, personal, humorous, and heart-wrenching, this nine-time Tony Award®-winning show delves into the dreams and fears of the dancers, revealing what they have done and would do for love.

Tickets can be purchased here. And if you want more of A Chorus Line, the Tallahassee Film Society is screening a behind-the-scenes look at the 2006 Broadway revival. Fred Chappell, the head of FSU’s MFA Directing program, will be giving a pre-show talk about casting from the perspective of a director. Find more information here.
