The FSU Department of Interior Architecture + Design congratulates senior Mehdi Shayan for his Silver Award in the 2014 International Lighting Competition held in S. Korea. His entry, which involved the design of a sconce for a Zoroastrian shrine, is on display in the William Johnston Building gallery this summer through August. The fixture features a prism that shines colored light on the wall on which it is mounted. Medhi completed the design in Dr. Jill Pable’s Lighting class, which jump-started the semester with a trip to Cooper Lighting outside Atlanta. He will continue his studies in graduate school at FSU in the fall.
