Susan Hinton, detail of Fandango, 2012, watercolor, 22 x 30 inches
In May and June, the Museum turns to regional artist projects. The Artists’ League juried exhibition will include a focus presentation by one of the Guilds of the League, and the concurrent programming will be the Tri-State Water Media exhibition. This year the summer salon of the Artists’ League is juried by Amanda Thompson of Tallahassee’s local arts organization, CoCA. Both artist groups will share an opening night on May 16 from 6-8pm, making the most of their public celebration at the beginning of another warm—but friendly—summer at MoFA.
The Tallahassee Watercolor Society has been in existence and serving artist members with lectures, workshops and exhibitions since the late ’70s. This summer the Society is hosting their 26th Tri-State Watermedia exhibition at MoFA. It is to be juried by painter Susan Hinton from Portland, Oregon, who will also conduct a painting workshop May 13-15 at the Museum.
