College Leadership Council

Established in Fall 2010, the College Leadership Council at the College of Fine Arts (CLC) was founded with the intent to promote collaboration and communication between students across all departments in the College. Made up of graduate and undergraduate representatives from each school, the CLC encourages interdisciplinary communication and artistic collaboration. It is our belief that multidisciplinary cooperation makes us stronger artists and contributes to a more connected, dynamic college. In addition to serving as a bridge between students and departments, the CLC continues to act as a bridge between the College and the broader community.

The CLC hosts a number of annual events including Pizza With Professors, Finals Cocoa Event, SIX Launch Party, resume workshops, and arts-related service events, including working with local schools in art mentorship and putting on art supply drives each semester. The Council maintains a strong sense of autonomy in selecting projects and initiatives, and remains committed to evolving in response to student ideas, fostering collaboration, and strengthening connections within both the College and the wider arts community.

SIX Magazine
A cornerstone of CLC’s work remains the annual production of SIX Magazine, the College of Fine Arts’ entirely student-run, juried publication. Each year, undergraduate and graduate students submit work to a competitive review process led by a student editorial team. Selected artists and researchers are introduced to the professional experience of being published, engaging with editors and designers to see their work thoughtfully presented in print.
 
The release of SIX is celebrated with an elevated launch event that brings together students, faculty, alumni, and members of the community. In the past, the CLC has partnered with 621 Gallery and the FSU Museum of Fine Arts (MoFA) to host the event in order to connect our mission with the local arts presence. This celebration honors contributors and highlights the creativity and vigor of student work across the College.
