The Florida State University Department of Art Education was well represented at this year’s Florida Art Education Association Conference in Orlando last month. Faculty, alumni, and students gave presentations and participated in workshops centered around the theme “Metamorphosis: Art Evolves.”
Associate Professor and Director of the Doctoral Program Jeff Broome was named the co-recipient of the FAEA Distinguished Service Award. This award is for the highest level of professionalism in the field of art education, given to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding teaching and strong advocacy and leadership in advancing art education.
Alum Chrissy Schebilski (BS ’03) took home the Local Art Education Association Leader Award, presented to an outstanding local FAEA member who works to support excellence in art education.
