Cricket Mannheimer, Dean’s Advisory Council
Cricket Mannheimer (BFA Dance 1981, MS Art Education 1994) served the School of Dance as costume designer for several years after graduation and then became a dance instructor in Tallahassee for more than 35 years. She was a founding member and President of FSU Friends of Dance, which raises funds for FSU Dance scholarships. Her service to the School of Dance was recognized when she was honored as the first recipient of the Nancy Smith Fichter Award.
Cricket has been featured as “Teacher in the Spotlight” in Studio Dance Magazine. In 2014, she was a Finalist for the Leadership Tallahassee Award for Community Service to the Arts. For the past nine years she served on the Board of Directors of Big Bend Hospice Foundation, creating signature fund-raising events. In 2015, she was named as one of Tallahassee’s 25 Women You Need to Know.
Cricket is married to Douglas and they have two sons. She is an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tallahassee.
