Loren Davidson

School of Dance

Loren Davidson is living a life of movement in multiple forms, now including motherhood. The relationships built and stories shared through movement-based modalities such as Pilates, contemporary dance, improvisation and somatics-based practices are all included in her making, teaching and collaborating container. Loren’s current focus is a durational practice called, healing duets 24-49, which is an ongoing project informed by grief, celebration, repurposing memories, and breaking bread, all while holding legacies of loved ones passed and little ones at her feet.

Loren works as a Pilates educator and mentor at Polestar Pilates (Miami, FL) where she continues to support students through comprehensive Pilates training, individualized strength and mobility programs, as well as Trauma-Informed somatic practices.

Loren has most recently worked alongside Jawole Willa Jo Zollar and Vincent Thomas at Houston Grand Opera for the premiere of Intelligence choreographed and directed by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar in collaboration with Urban Bush Women. She has also performed with Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre in Carne Viva, Make Believe and Various Stages of Drowning and continues working with RHDT on workshops such as: Celebratory Healing Remixed: provisions for a creative practice.

She holds an MFA from Florida State University and a BFA from New World School of the Arts. She holds certifications in the Pilates method (Balanced Body and Polestar Pilates), Gyrokinesis, Trauma Informed Yoga and Somatics, Yoga and Pelvic Health, and Brain Dance (Anne Greene Gilbert).
