Nick Maccarone

Nick Maccarone is an actor, writer, filmmaker, producer, and instructor, currently serving as Co-Director of the BFA Acting Program in the School of Theatre. His career spans television, theatre, film, and education, combining creative artistry with a commitment to mentoring and empowering artists.

As an actor, Nick has appeared in television series including Scandal, Law & Order: SVU, Unforgettable, Eye Candy, Elementary, Girls Against Boys, and Americana. On stage, he has performed at renowned venues such as the Guthrie Theatre, Alley Theatre, and La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Beyond acting, Nick has contributed as a writer for Backstage Magazine, worked as a casting reader for Broadway productions, and created the online course Acting as a Profession on Skillshare.

Nick has delivered two TEDx Talks, including “6 Ways Actors and Artists Can Empower Themselves,” highlighting his dedication to artist empowerment and education. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the School of International Affairs at FSU.

Nick’s feature film Sonny Boy—which he wrote, produced, and starred in—completed a successful festival run, earning the Audience Choice Award at the Dances with Film Festival: New York. The film also received an Honorable Mention at the Ojai Film Festival, was nominated at the Richmond International Film Festival, and was officially selected for the Gasparilla International Film Festival and Julien Dubuque International Film Festival. Sonny Boy had its West Coast premiere at Dances with Films: Los Angeles, held at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, and is now finalizing a streaming distribution agreement.

He is now focused on writing, directing, producing, and starring in his second feature, Never Leave Me Behind, with production scheduled for Spring 2027 in New Orleans.
