Students Win Big in American Society of Interior Designers Florida North Chapter Annual Awards

A big congratulations to four Interior Architecture and Design students who received awards for their design projects at the American Society of Interior Designers Florida North Chapter Annual Design Awards announced on September 25th. Winners include Arianna Dantes who won First place, Residential for Paris Apartment; Christine Wahl who won First Place, Corporate Design for Little Bits Office Design; Kailey Brown who won First place, Retail, for Bijoux; Zuleydi Gonzalez who won Second Place, Hospitality, for Little Visa Gardens Hotel + Spa; and Lela Gunderson who won Second Place, Retail, for Bijoux Luxury Retail.

All winners submitted a complete and detailed conceptual design with a written design concept statement for their respective categories. The submissions were judged on suitability for sharing with a non-designer audience and professional quality, among other standards including scale and proportion, color composition, creative use of space, functional use of space, effective use of lighting, appropriate design solutions, relationship of materials, textures, and patterns, and attention to details and design elements.
These four students demonstrated their capacity for professionalism, detail, functionality, and sophisticated design. The American Society of Interior Designers Florida North Chapter’s Annual Design Awards are open to both students and professionals, and students compete in their own 10 categories in the competition.
