Lesley Zitone-Olson, Dean’s Advisory Council

Lesley Zitone-Olson (BS Interior Design 1988) grew up in New England and started her college career at Post College in Connecticut.  She eventually transferred to FSU after reading a book by FSU Interior Design Professor Mary Jo Weale, who is credited with legitimizing the area of study distinct from ‘home decorating’ and became the department chair of Interior Design at FSU. Lesley was specifically looking for a professional degree at a time when there were few quite as serious and reputable as our own. Lesley continues to credit her education at FSU for her success and enjoys coming back to Tallahassee for sports and to help the program.

After FSU, she found a niche in textile sales with Milliken and was recruited to 3Form in 2006, working as a Sales Rep, Regional Sales Manager, and Materials Specialist. Zitone-Olson joined Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering in 2023 as Northeast Director of Sales.

Lesley was a member of the FSU Department of Interior Architecture & Design Advisory Council from 2017 to 2023, most recently serving two years as Chair. Over the years, she has donated 3Form materials for courses, created the physical awards for the Department Alumni Awards recipients and brought in event and studio sponsors for the Department.

Lesley is a board member for COMMON THREAD FOR THE CURE, a non-profit which supports individuals and families affected by breast cancer who work in the building professions – Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, etc.

Lesley is married to Jeffrey Olson, and they live together in New Jersey and enjoy fitness, the arts, and FSU. Nephew Adam Salerno is a current student at FSU.
