Jen Gillette (she/her) is a costume designer and visual artist. Gillette’s work as a costume designer has been seen on stages across the country, including at The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, The Washington Ballet, Taffety Punk, Hattiloo Theatre, Olney National Players, New Orleans Shakespeare Festival, Manhattan School of Music, University of Memphis, and others. As an illustrator and installation artist, Gillette has created works and presentations at the Museum of Modern Art, The Columbus Museum of Art, The Front Gallery New Orleans, Opera Memphis, and various guerilla locations. She has also presented on the topics of digital painting, costume design, and creative classroom practice at regional, national, and international conferences. Jen Gillette is the author of an upcoming book from Routledge about digital painting for theater designers; the text proposes a new cross-software, cross-hardware approach to teaching and learning digital painting by treating it as a medium rather than a software tutorial. Jen Gillette received her MFA in Costume Design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and her BFA in Painting and Drawing from The Ohio State University.
