College of Fine Arts Research Funding Opportunities

The College of Fine Arts supports research and creative ecosystem through four tiers of internal grant funding. These programs are designed to meet faculty needs at various stages of research, creative practice, collaboration, and dissemination.

  • Catalyst Grant
CFA Catalyst Grants provide seed funding of up to $7,000 to support research, creative, and interdisciplinary projects with strong potential for external funding, public impact, or major dissemination outcomes such as exhibitions, performances, or publications. Catalyst Grants are intended to propel ambitious projects at a pivotal early stage and/or advance key research priorities of the College.
  • Research & Production Grant
CFA Research & Production Support Grants provide up to $4,000 to support the final stages of research and creative projects that have a clearly defined outcome and an identified venue for dissemination, realization, or public presentation. These grants are designed to help faculty complete projects that are ready for exhibition, performance, publication, documentation, or other forms of delivery and dissemination.
  • Faculty–Student Collaborative Grant
Faculty–Student Collaborative Grants provide up to $2,500 to support joint research and creative projects between College of Fine Arts faculty and undergraduate or graduate students. These grants are designed to promote mentorship, foster experiential learning, and support projects that engage students in meaningful research or creative inquiry under faculty guidance.
  • Faculty Travel Grant
Faculty Conference and Exhibition Travel Support Grants provide up to $1,000 to support travel and registration for faculty presenting or exhibiting their research or creative work at academic conferences, juried exhibitions, curated shows, or professional conferences. These grants facilitate the dissemination of scholarship and creative practice, support faculty development, and enhance the visibility of the College’s research and creative excellence.
