Office of the Dean

Welcome to the College of Fine Arts at FSU.

The Florida State University College of Fine Arts offers some of the most diverse and renowned art programs of any public university.  Students can earn degrees in Art, Art Education, Art History, Dance, Interior Architecture & Design, and Theatre.  At FSU we graduate high-level, artists, producers, and creative thinkers who will become tomorrow’s leaders in all areas of the arts.

If you are a student, patron, alumni, our member of our community I hope you will have the pleasure of interacting with, and appreciating our award-winning esteemed faculty. They have an unparalleled combination of professional experience and excellence in research that helps create a dynamic and vital environment for the arts.

FSU College of Fine Arts students are a diverse group of exceptionally talented individuals who come to this university from across the country and around the globe.  While at FSU, students in the College of Fine Arts are provided with a wide range in academic courses as well as a variety of performance and exhibition opportunities.  Their educational experience is further enhanced by the frequent lectures and discussions brought to them by our visiting artists and scholars programs. Many of our students go on to become renowned art professionals.

Florida State University stands at the center of the arts community in Florida. Faculty, staff and students from across disciplines, as well as members from the greater Tallahassee and Sarasota communities, actively participate in the arts at FSU by attending the hundreds of performances, lectures and art exhibitions available to them throughout the academic year.  The School of Theatre presents six main stage productions and two Act II performances. The School of Dance produces two major shows, An Evening of Dance and Days of Dance, and also hosts several MFA concerts, which are wonderful exhibitions of choreography and design by graduating MFA students.   Art and design students exhibit their work at a number of galleries across campus, and the Museum of Fine Arts holds approximately fifteen curated exhibitions each year.

I invite you to join us at the College of Fine Arts while we continue to pursue scholarly and artistic excellence and serve our community of students, patrons, artists and colleagues.
