Haley Lauw Selected as Inaugural FAR Research Fellow

Artist Haley Lauw has been selected as the 2018-2019 FAR Research Fellow. This newly-created role at the Facility for Arts Research was established to integrate one recently graduated MFA into the FAR community during the upcoming academic year. Through the fellowship, the FAR Research Fellow is awarded an honorarium and provided access to a shared work space at FAR. Haley Lauw is an artist working across sculpture, installation, and printmaking to explore the ups and downs of interpersonal relationships. She has been an artist in residence at The Wassaic Project and The Pajama Factory. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including Fountain Art Fair during Art Basel Miami. Most recently, her work has been juried into the Boston Printmakers 2018 North American Biennial by Judith Brodie at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and The Contemporary Print by Dr. Paul Laidler at Flatbed Press in Austin, TX. She has also been invited to exhibit alongside Neal Breton at The Delaware Contemporary in an exhibition titled We Don’t Live There and at the Pensacola Museum of Art in an exhibition titled Philic / Phobic. Haley’s prints are in the collections of the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, The Southeast Review, and the Southern Graphics Council International Archives.

FAR’s mission is to cultivate a vibrant creative community by supporting collaborative projects within the College of Fine Arts and beyond. Each month during the 2018-2019 academic year, FAR hosts a Thursday Research Night to showcase current projects, provide opportunities for discussion with visiting artists, and engage in collaborative making.
