Joe Johnson is a painter, sculptor and printmaker whose work has been described as “a world of excited, frenetic energy, of sound, light, music and pure adrenaline.” He received most of his classroom experience at FSU – from kindergarten at the FSU experimental school, through Florida High, to his B.A. and Ph.D. Joe taught high school construction for 30 years. Joe previously served on the Dean’s Advisory Committee until 2019. He and his wife Cindy have helped host numerous fund raising events for the visual arts at FSU. They live 30 miles north of Tallahassee in Cairo, GA, and when he’s not in his studio producing art, he volunteers at several local non-profits.
